What does the lion say?

So for awhile now when you ask Joni what the lion says, she roars. It's pretty cute. That also works when you ask her what the monster/alligator/dinosaur says...haha.

At almost 14 months she can say mostly one syllable words. Some of these are Chinese and some are English.

Here's what I remember off the top of my head:

  • popo - maternal grandma (the first thing she learned to say)
  • maamaa - paternal grandma
  • yeye - paternal grandpa

(gong gong is too hard for her. she gets stuck saying "grrr".)
  • tai tai - great grandma
  • mama
  • baba
  • ayee - auntie
  • sook sook - uncle
  • ju - uncle in Vietnamese (Thanks Kevin!!)
  • qiu - uncle (my brother)
  • pees - please
  • hi
  • bye bye
  • mung - monkey
  • mum mum - food
  • nai nai - milk
  • sui sui - water
  • jook - chinese rice porridge
  • cake

If you can't tell, I'm really proud of my little Joni. Today one word syllables, next week COLLEGE!!
