At almost 14 months she can say mostly one syllable words. Some of these are Chinese and some are English.
Here's what I remember off the top of my head:
- popo - maternal grandma (the first thing she learned to say)
- maamaa - paternal grandma
- yeye - paternal grandpa
(gong gong is too hard for her. she gets stuck saying "grrr".) - tai tai - great grandma
- mama
- baba
- ayee - auntie
- sook sook - uncle
- ju - uncle in Vietnamese (Thanks Kevin!!)
- qiu - uncle (my brother)
- pees - please
- hi
- bye bye
- mung - monkey
- mum mum - food
- nai nai - milk
- sui sui - water
- jook - chinese rice porridge
- cake
If you can't tell, I'm really proud of my little Joni. Today one word syllables, next week COLLEGE!!
