9 month wellness checkup

Joni had her 9 month wellness checkup yesterday and here are the stats:

17 lbs 10 oz and 28.25 inches long!

She's in the 25th percentile for weight and in the 75th percentile for height! She also had her final Hep B shot and was a real trooper. Only cried for like 5 seconds.

We asked the pediatrician about whether or not Joni was getting enough sleep and formula. The doc said we were fine and around this age, babies tend to drink less formula since they're eating solids. Doc also said Joni was doing well with sleeping 10:30pm - 7am. She suggested that we put Joni into her crib when she's sleepy and not asleep. Doc said if she falls asleep in her crib, when she wakes up in the middle of the night her surroundings will look familiar and then she can soothe herself to sleep.

So last night we put Joni in her crib and gave her a bottle in her crib. She fell asleep for a bit and then work up crying for me. I held her for a few minutes and then she fell asleep. AND she slept through the night!! We're going to keep this up and see if she can get used to falling asleep in her crib.

I hope we'll have some luck with this bedtime thing. Check back to see how we do!
