Can you believe it? Joni is 9 months today! It feels like she's been with us forever but I can't believe how fast time has flown by. She's getting bigger and bigger everyday. I don't think I am ready for her to be a big girl yet. Anyone know how I can keep her small forever??
Happy 9 months Joni!! We love you!
Oh and our little buddy Kyle is also 3 months today. Happy 3 months Kyle!

new bedtime
So it seems that Joni isn't getting enough sleep. I've been talking to some moms and reading some parenting sites and babies are supposed to sleep like 12 hours a night! Joni is getting about 8 hours a night. :(
Joni was going to bed around 10pm -12am and then getting up a couple of times during the night and then waking up at 7am or 8am. We thought it was because she was teething that she got up during the night. She only started this a month or so ago.
Her pediatrician said that if she's getting about 13 hours total a day it should be okay but I"m starting to worry she's not getting enough rest. So we tried a new schedule Monday and it was a little tough. I read about the Cry It Out method where you let the baby cry and they sort of get used to falling asleep on their own in their crib. That was a bit harsh. It was hard listening to her cry especially when she doesn't normally cry alot.
I tried to put her down around 8pm and shut the lights out. Once I put her in her crib, she'd pull herself up and then start looking for someone to play with. She'd cry after a minute or so with no response. There was a couple of times where she cried pretty bad... I decided that it was okay that she fell asleep in my arms as long as she knew when her bed time was.
Last night, she fell asleep at 7:30, she got up a couple of times but we kept the lights off and she went back to sleep pretty easily and woke up at 6am!!
I think once she's used to her new bedtime, I'm going to try getting her to fall asleep in her crib on her own. It's going to be tough since she already knows how to pull herself up. Anyone have any tips on that?
Wish us luck!

we're moving to watertown!
Sorry it's been awhile since there's been a new post. We've been busy finding a new home but we've got it now! We got a condo in Watertown. We should be closing by the end of them month and probably move in by early or mid September. All we have to do is paint and buy new furniture. Horray!!

8 Months!!
Our baby girl is 8 months today! The past few weeks she's learned to sit unsupported, crawl and she can stand up in her crib now! Joni's also started pulling herself up next to furniture and tries to climb it. We're a bit worried she'd fall and bump her head but so far so good. No major boo boos yet. Happy 8 months baby!

crawling? not quite.
It started yesterday. Joni was having some tummy time and then she starts dragging herself and kicking her feet! She wasn't exactly crawling. She looked more like a worm! haha. She's gotten a bit faster today. Can't wait til she can actually crawl. She's going to be such a terror!
Oh by the way, Joni is 7 months tomorrow! Time is just flying by!

old videos
Hi everyone. Thought I'd put up a video or two today. These were from March when Joni was about 3 months old. The first one is Joni babbling. Some people have commented that she sounds angry. We think it might be because we don't let her watch TV. She seems to be very interested when football or some sports is on. I think we've got a tomboy on our hands...
The second video is of her rolling over for the first time. Grandpa is there coaching her along...haha.
Anyway, I watch them whenever I miss my little girl when I'm at work. Hope you enjoy it. I know I do.
